Bryan Danielson Heaps Praise On Swerve Strickland: "That Dude Is Something Special"

Bryan Danielson is a big fan of fellow AEW star Swerve Strickland.

After wrestling Swerve Strickland on last week's AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson heaped praise upon his opponent in an interview with Sports Nightly. Danielson stated:

"Last Tuesday was the first time I had ever been in the ring with Swerve. I'd watched him wrestling before and he's that next level of great. Seeing him is one thing, being in the ring with him is a completely different thing. But that dude is something special."

Danielson was victorious in their match, after Hangman Adam Page got involved to prevent Swerve's manager Prince Nana from cheating. This is a continuation of the feud between Strickland and Hangman, which recently saw Swerve pick up a landmark victory over Page at AEW WrestleDream.

Danielson also wrestled at the pay-per-view event which took place in Seattle, Washington, defeating Zack Sabre Jr. of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Both Strickland and Danielson are from the state of Washington, and were enthusiastically received by the crowd in attendance (despite Swerve's usual status as a heel.)

Another Washington native, Darby Allin, was unsuccessful in the main event of WrestleDream, losing to Christian Cage in a TNT Championship match after a betrayal from apparent ally Nick Wayne, who turned heel to help Christian retain. The show then closed with the AEW debut of Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge in WWE.
