Buddy Matthews Returns On AEW Collision

Buddy Matthews is BACK on AEW programming

Amidst all the SummerSlam buzz last night, a return took place on the August 3 edition of AEW Collision. Buddy Matthews is back in the fold after over a month away from AEW television, bringing the House Of Black faction back to full strength.

During the show, The Patriarchy were in the ring as Christian Cage handed Nick Wayne his AEW World Trios Championship belt after the group won the gold two weeks back. Killswitch did not get his own title however, as it was instead handed over to Mother Wayne.

Both the House Of Black (with the returning Buddy Matthews by their side) and the Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson & The Gunns) arrived to confront the champions in the ring. Nick Wayne received the brunt of the punishment from The Patriarchy’s enemies as they sought to attack the champs. Matthews was written off TV for some time away rather than because of an injury, in which he got married to Rhea Ripley.

It was reported in the last two weeks that Matthews had re-signed with AEW in what was said to be a “lucrative” deal. This was celebrated with his AEW return on Collision.
