Carlito spit in the face of The Judgment Day at WWE Backlash as the former Intercontinental Champion made his return to the company at the May 6 pay-per-view in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Bad Bunny faced Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight in a headline match at Backlash and the award-winning rapper looked set to win the match before Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio made their way to the ring to assist Priest. This brought out Rey Mysterio for the save but he was soon taken down by Judgment Day.

Backlash then received a dose of Caribbean Cool as Carlito made his return to WWE, making the save for Mysterio and Bad Bunny by decking Finn Balor with a Backstabber before a recovering Rey hit Dominik with a 619. Carlito then bit into an apple to a huge pop from the fans in attendance before he ended up brawling up the ramp with Judgment Day.

Savio Vega made his own return to WWE and the Latino World Order with Carlito ended up sending Balor and Dominik scurrying to the back.

Bad Bunny went on to win the San Juan Street Fight, hitting Damian Priest with a Canadian Destroyer to score the 1-2-3.

Backlash was Carlito's first appearance in WWE since the post-Royal Rumble 2021 episode of Raw where he teamed with Jeff Hardy to defeat Elias and Jaxson Ryker. Carlito returned to WWE during that year's Royal Rumble, which was his first match in WWE since 2010.

The son of Carlos Colon, Carlito remains hugely popular in Puerto Rico and continues to wrestle for the World Wrestling Council.
