Chad Gable has been "sniffing around" Real American Freestyle and the two sides are "talking about it", according to Eric Bischoff.

Bischoff, who is the chief media officer for Real American Freestyle, said on 83 Weeks:

"I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that Chad Gable is a phenomenal, phenomenal amateur wrestler and is kind of sniffing around Real American Freestyle, just throwing it out there. We're talking about it. There's some contractual issues that can kind of make that difficult, but we're having discussions and relatively serious ones. So I think it's just a matter of time. But also, I'm not going to mention any names, but I was having a conversation not too long ago with someone we all know, and [they're] very excited about what we're doing at Real American Freestyle. Again, comes from a collegiate amateur wrestling background."

Real American Freestyle is an amateur wrestling league launched by Hulk Hogan and others in April 2025. RAF have already worked with UFC, who share a parent company with WWE in TKO Group Holdings, and several UFC fighters have appeared at Real American Freestyle events.

Chad Gable has a background in amateur wrestling, having competed in Greco-Roman wrestling at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He transitioned to professional wrestling in 2013, signing with WWE in November of that year.

Gable had performed as Original El Grande Americano for the past 18 months but he lost a Mask vs. Mask Match to El Grande Americano at Noche de los Grandes on May 30. He has since returned to WWE TV and has been apologising to WWE's luchadores, including making the save for Penta and Rey Mysterio on the June 8 episode of Monday Night Raw from Paris, France.
