According to reports from the

Wrestling Observer Newsletter

, current IWGP Intercontinental Champion, Chris Jericho, could be heading to IMPACT Wrestling in the near future.

In this week's newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote: "While nobody will say anything, there is a lot of belief within the business than Jericho is destined to be here [IMPACT] and the not wanting to do anything that would get Vince mad doctrine isn’t nearly as strong as it was months ago."

Jericho is currently working with NJPW, winning their Intercontinental Title from Tetsuya Naito at Dominion back in June. Since debuting in New Japan in late 2017, there have been rumours surrounding a potential move to IMPACT for the leader of the Alpha Club due to his close relationship with their co-vice president, Don Callis - who also works for NJPW as an English speaking colour commentator.

Believe it or not, IMPACT Wrestling and Jericho have worked together in the past, with Chris' band Fozzy providing the theme for Bound For Glory 2006. Allegedly, there was a contract offer on the table from the-then TNA in 2007, however, Y2J would use this offer to gain leverage to sign a better deal with WWE for a return.

Just last week, it was reported elsewhere that Jericho had met with IMPACT management about teaming up for the

Jeri-cruise

in October this year, which was later confirmed by Jericho himself. This will come as a shock to fans as the host of the Talk Is Jericho podcast had ruled out competing for another US-based wrestling company, due to not wanting to upset Vince McMahon. However, as Meltzer noted in The Observer, it seems this stance is no longer as important to Y2J.
