Claudio Castagnoli Debuts For AEW At Forbidden Door

The former Cesaro has joined The Blackpool Combat Club

Claudio Castagnoli (the former Cesaro) debuted for AEW at Forbidden Door on Sunday night, as the mystery opponent of Zack Sabre Jr.

After a technically-sound battle with lots of creative counters, Claudio finished Sabre off with the Ricola Bomb.

The match was Claudio's first since leaving WWE at the expiration of his contract in February. His last WWE match saw him lose to Happy Corbin on an episode of SmackDown on February 11.

Claudio is also the newest member of the Blackpool Combat Club, joining Bryan Danielson (who he substituted for in Sunday's match), Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and William Regal.

AEW is already selling a Claudio t-shirt.

Claudio will also participate in "Blood and Guts" this Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite, teaming with Moxley, Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, and Yuta against The Jericho Appreciation Society's Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker.

The JAS has the man advantage for the match, following Jericho, Guevara, and Minoru Suzuki's win over Kingston, Yuta, and Shota Umino at Forbidden Door on Sunday night in Chicago.
