Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes Welcome First Child

The Nightmare Family has a new member. 

Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes welcomed their newborn baby girl into the world today, with Cody revealing the news on Instagram.

"6lbs 12oz - Liberty Iris Runnels - Mother & Daughter are doing wonderful," he wrote.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child back in December 2020. They have been married since 2013 and first met when they were both working in WWE. 

Despite the birth of their first child, both Cody and Brandi plan to maintain a busy schedule. 

The American Nightmare's feud with The Factory is still ongoing and he will face off against former friend QT Marshall in a South Beach Strap Match at AEW Dynamite: Road Rager on July 7. 

Brandi also told TV Insider back in March that she plans to return to work full-time as AEW's chief brand officer as soon as she is cleared.

"I plan not to miss a beat. There is obviously the reality that once you come home from the hospital you do have a recovery period. I will do my best to be patient and let that healing process happen. As soon I'm cleared by doctors and ready to go, I'm back to work fully. I'm going to be back on the road. I'm definitely not going to stay at home," Rhodes said. 

"My plans are not to travel with the baby. We do have a fantastic nanny on hand that we're really excited about. She will be an integral part of the baby's life. We also have a great supportive family in Atlanta as well. I like new challenges and new things happening. This baby is the biggest challenge that I've been faced with. So I'm like, bring it on. I can't wait to meet her and see what works for her and doesn't work for her. How I can adjust. I think we're going to be an awesome team."
