Cody Rhodes Opens WWE Raw After WrestleMania, Makes His Intentions Clear

Cody Rhodes reveals his intentions on WWE Raw

Following his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes opened Monday's edition of Raw from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

After another dramatic entrance, Rhodes opened with 'So, what do you guys want to talk about?' before he admitted his decision to re-sign with WWE was easy and any moment of trepidation disappeared when he defeated Seth Rollins on Saturday.

Cody then looked back at a photo of Dusty Rhodes holding the WWWF Title in 1977 and The American Nightmare revealed that after speaking to his father about the photo that was on his mantlepiece, Cody vowed to win the WWE Championship and put the belt in his father's hands. An emotional Cody noted that dream died, that opportunity passed - or did it?

The 36-year-old accepted he couldn't bestow the WWE Title upon Dusty Rhodes but he could put the belt around his own waist and now he stands ready to finally accomplish his vow and become WWE Champion for the fans, himself, his family, and 'The American Dream' Dusty Rhodes.

Cody may have a roadblock ahead of a WWE Title match, though, as Seth Rollins interrupted the promo and shook Cody's hand, a decision which puzzled The American Nightmare.

Cody had previously been away from WWE for six years but his departure from All Elite Wrestling in February paved the way for The American Nightmare to return to Vince McMahon's company.

He previously performed for WWE for 10 years from 2006 until 2016, ending his first run in the company as a two-time Intercontinental Champion and six-time WWE Tag Team Champion.
