Cody Rhodes Responds To Negativity Around His Title Match At Fight For The Fallen

AEW TNT Champion Blasts Intolerant Twitter Fan...

Cody Rhodes will defend his AEW TNT Championship against Sonny Kiss at the upcoming Fight for the Fallen special episode of Dynamite.

Sonny considers himself gender-fluid and, while competing in the men's division in AEW, the performer has been very open about his sexuality, gender and pronoun comfortably.

Responding to a fan who took umbrage with The American Nightmare's choice of opponent, Rhodes decried that his opinion was 'terrible' and that if any fans had a problem with a gay man receiving a title shot, then they could 'kiss my ass'.

Cody ended his tweet by saying that he was 'proud to share the ring with Sonny'.

Since AEW's inception the company have made it clear that they are working hard to create a diverse and inclusive environment, with Chief Brand Officer (and Cody's wife) Brandi Rhodes leading the charge.

AEW's Fight for the Fallen takes place on Wednesday, July 15th.

The show will be helping to raise money for COVID-19 relief.
