Cody Rhodes Vs. Damian Priest Official For WWE Crown Jewel

A big singles match has been added to the WWE Crown Jewel card.

Last night's Raw saw the addition of a new match to the WWE Crown Jewel card.

Cody Rhodes and Damian Priest agreed to a singles match in the opening segment of the show. However, the episode also saw Cody fall victim to an attack by the Judgment Day, leaving him limping backstage.

Cody - along with current ally Jey Uso - recently lost the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships back to the Judgment Day team of Priest and Finn Balor, the duo they had won the belts from in the first place. Priest is also the current holder of the men's Money in the Bank briefcase.

Cody's continued entanglement with the Judgment Day leaves uncertainty over future plans for the American Nightmare. There is still speculation that WWE will book a rematch between Rhodes and Roman Reigns in the main event of next year's WrestleMania, after Cody failed to beat Roman for the title at this year's event.

Cody recently teased in a televised promo that he had deliberately engineered Jey Uso's move from SmackDown to the Raw brand, in the hope that he would be the Superstar traded in the opposite direction. This would have left Cody on the same brand as Roman. However, it was revealed on a recent SmackDown that Kevin Owens was the actual new addition to the blue brand.

WWE Crown Jewel is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 4. The full card announced at the time of writing is as follows:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. LA Knight - Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
  • Seth Rollins (c) vs. Drew McIntyre - World Heavyweight Championship
  • Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Nia Jax vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Zoey Stark - Women's World Championship
  • Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Logan Paul - WWE United States Championship
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Damian Priest
