Criminal Charges Against Cash Wheeler Moving Forward

Criminal charges against AEW’s Cash Wheeler are set to move forward

Criminal charges against All Elite Wrestling star Cash Wheeler are moving forward following the FTR star’s arrest for aggravated assault in August 2023.

Cash - real name Daniel Wheeler - was charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm in Orlando in what was believed to be a ‘road rage incident’ in July 2023. The incident in question is said to have seen Wheeler ‘flash a gun’ at the plaintiff, with Wheeler filing a plea of ‘not guilty’ via his attorney on August 3, 2023, before turning himself in on August 17 and being arraigned the following day.

Since then there has been no real movement on the case, but on February 1, 2024 a decision was made to move forward on pressing charges. Under Florida law Wheeler could face up to five years’ imprisonment, five years’ probation, and a $5,000 dollar fine if found guilty of aggravated assault with a firearm. It is classed as a third-degree felony.

A hearing has been set for February 20, but it has been listed as an arraignment, with Wheeler having previously been arraigned in August 2023 as noted above.
