Crown On The Line, Commander Azeez In Action On Next Friday's WWE SmackDown

The go-home show before Hell in a Cell

On what will be the go-home broadcast prior to next Sunday's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, two matches have been announced next Friday's WWE SmackDown.

In tag team action, Kevin Owens will team with Big E to face Intercontinental champion Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez.

The match will Azeez's first "official" match since teaming with current AEW performer Nick Comoroto at an NXT house show in February 2020.

Owens and Big E defeated Crews and Sami Zayn on Friday's SmackDown, when Owens pinned Zayn. After the match, Crews said that he only lost because he had Zayn for a partner, so he challenged Owens and Big E to a match next week, with the towering Azeez as his new partner.

Also set for next week is another match in the series between Shinsuke Nakamura and King Corbin. For this match, possession of Corbin's crown is at stake.

Nakamura and Corbin are deadlocked at two wins apiece in their recent rivalry, with Nakamura defeating Corbin this past Friday night in a sub-two minute bout. Corbin then went to Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville to demand his crown back, only for them to instead make the rematch for next week, with the crown on the line.
