Curtis Axel Appears On WWE Raw

Back on WWE Raw was Curtis Axel

A former Intercontinental Champion made an appearance on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw.

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins were involved in a pull-apart brawl ahead of their Hell In A Cell Match at the June 5 pay-per-view and the two men were separated by several WWE producers, including Shawn Daivari, Shane Helms, and Petey Williams.

Curtis Axel was also involved with separating the talents, appearing on WWE TV for the first time since his release from the company in April 2020. Axel has received a producer tryout behind the scenes in recent weeks but if he has signed a new deal with WWE is currently unknown.

The 42-year-old was previously an in-ring talent in WWE from 2007 until 2020 first as Michael McGillicutty and then Curt Axel. Beyond his Intercontinental Title reign, he is a two-time tag team champion, having held the gold with David Otunga and Bo Dallas.

Another former WWE talent in Ariya Daivari has received his own producer tryout and he could also be seen during the brawl, holding back Seth Rollins. Daivari was let go in June 2021 after five years with WWE and he has performed for AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling over the past 11 months.
