Damian Priest Wins US Title Contender's Match On WWE Raw

The Archer of Infamy got the better of Sheamus

Last night’s edition of WWE Raw saw Damian Priest defeat United States Champion Sheamus in a non-title ‘championship contender’s’ match.

The match saw Priest Hit the Lights on Sheamus for the win, but the US Title holder complained to the ref that he re-aggravated his broken nose, with Sheamus’ protective mask coming loose during the bout.

This match is the latest in a growing list of issues between the two men, with Sheamus and Priest clashing physically and verbally in recent weeks.

Prior to last night’s match, Priest had saved Humberto Carillo from a Sheamus attack, and watched on as Sheamus later made short work of Carillo. Then, last night Priest said Sheamus didn’t deserve to be champion, saying he made excuses all the time and attacked people from behind, before eventually calling Sheamus a bully.

It seems as though WWE are setting up Priest vs. Sheamus for the title at Summerslam, but as always, plans can change.
