Dana White Provides Update On WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar Potentially Returning To UFC

Fight with Daniel Cormier on the cards?

Up until very recently, everyone appeared to accept that Brock Lesnar would be dropping the Universal title to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35 before departing for UFC.

However, over the weekend, WWE used The Beast Incarnate as part of the advertising for the new SmackDown Live on Fox. With the deal between WWE and Fox not commencing until the start of October, and the rumours of The Beast moving on not being debunked as of yet, Vince McMahon et al using Lesnar in the ad had fans asking questions.

UFC President Dana White has spoken about the possibility of Brock rejoining UFC in an interview with Megan Olivi on UFC’s YouTube channel. White is hoping for a call from Lesnar in the summer: “Brock Lesnar is doing his thing with WWE. One of the things about Brock Lesnar is, when that guy is ready to fight, he is not shy. He will call me and he will let me know. To be honest with you, I’m hoping to hear from that guy this summer.”

And when the issue of who Brock could face should he return to UFC cropped up, White thinks he wants to face Daniel Cormier: “I think both guys really want it, Cormier wants it bad. I know Cormier wants it bad, and Brock wants it bad. So, when two fighters want to fight each other as bad as these two do, I think it’s going to happen."
