Daniel Bryan's WrestleMania Opponent Reportedly Revealed

So much about the WrestleMania 35 card remains a mystery, as few long-arching storylines seem to actually be in place. WWE's still trying to flesh out a card for Fastlane in under three weeks, so there's a whole lot of storyline murkiness in the air overall.

According to Jeremy Botter of Bleacher Report, however, WWE Champion Daniel Bryan appears to have an opponent in place for WrestleMania. Unfortunately for a vocal section of the audience, it's not Kofi Kingston.

that Bryan's opponent for April 7 in East Rutherford is to be Kevin Owens. Botter does note "unless plans change" in his rather brief tweet, so it's possible (though not clear) that this reported plan has been in the offing for some time.

Dave Meltzer did recently note that Bryan's WrestleMania opponent was to be a "returning superstar", which is what Owens currently classifies as. The former Universal Champion has been out of action since October, when he had double knee surgery, and is due back sometime in March.

Owens has been sending in vlog-style vignettes over the past several weeks that depict him as kind of an imperfect but lovable family man, while building to his return.

Bryan, meanwhile, is currently set to defend the WWE Championship against Kingston at Fastlane on March 10 in Cleveland.
