Darby Allin To Challenge For AEW World Championship At Grand Slam

Darby Allin will battle for the AEW World Title at Dynamite: Grand Slam

For the second year in a row, Darby Allin emerged victorious in the annual Royal Rampage match in AEW. The bout, which takes place on the Rampage following Blood & Guts and features a huge battle royal within two rings, has seen Allin at the centre of it since it began. The inaugural edition of the match saw Brody King last eliminate Allin to earn an AEW World Championship shot, but last year had Allin win to become number one contender for the TNT Title.

A shot at the AEW World Championship was on the line once again this year, with it being announced that it would take place at the Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite, which takes place on September 25 inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium for the fourth year in a row.

The final four of the match saw Darby Allin, Claudio Castagnoli, Brian Cage, and Jeff Jarrett going at it. Castagnoli dumped Cage out of the ring in the closing stages, and “Hangman” Adam Page made his presence known by interfering to eliminate his current rival Jarrett. It came down to the final two, and Allin won the match by eliminating Castagnoli.
