Batista tweeted out a retirement message earlier this morning, bringing an end to a career that began in 1999.
During his time with WWE, Batista held the WWE Championship on two occasions, and the now-retired World Heavyweight title four times. He won two Royal Rumble matches, in 2005 and 2014.
In his career, Batista competed seven times at WrestleMania, including five times during his full-time main roster run that spanned from the spring of 2002 until May 2010. In that stretch, Batista headlined WrestleMania 21 in Los Angeles, winning the World Heavyweight title from the man he had his final match with, Triple H.
Other notable WrestleMania matches for Batista included three other World title matches, all of which were defeats: dropping the World Heavyweight title to Undertaker at 23, losing the WWE title to John Cena at 26, and tapping out to Daniel Bryan in the triple threat that closed out WrestleMania 30.
