DDP Doesn't Think AEW Appreciated Cody Rhodes 'The Way They Should Have'

DDP doesn't think AEW or its fans really appreciated Cody Rhodes

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page doesn't believe that AEW appreciated current WWE and former AEW star Cody Rhodes the 'way they should have'.

Speaking on the latest episode of the DDP Snake Pit podcast, DDP added:

"I couldn't believe the guy who made all this happen, and he's the guy that made it happen, how they turned on him. After he took Darby to a 20 minute Broadway...and put Max over and put over so many guys it didn't make any sense".

He also believes that AEW fans were finished with their appreciation of Cody by the time he decided to leave the company and rejoin WWE. Conversely, WWE fans were willing to embrace him after watching him plateau during his first run, according to Page.

"They watched what he did, and they appreciated him, they wanted him back," the former WCW World Champion said.

"Then for the matches that him and Seth Rollins had were just unbelievable, but there's a guy who's had a pedigree better than anybody, the American Dream's kid, and he couldn't get past this midground. When he was younger he was up a bit higher...but he came right back down and he was never going to go up higher. He had to leave"

DDP was a long-time friend of Cody's father, Dusty Rhodes, who he considered a mentor.

Cody Rhodes left AEW in February and returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 as the surprise opponent of Seth Rollins.
