Dolph Ziggler Injury Update Ahead Of WWE Starrcade
Despite appearing at Survivor Series, The Showoff wasn't seen on Raw...
Nov 22, 2018
Dolph Ziggler participated in the traditional men's 5-on-5 Survivor Series match on Sunday, helping Raw come out on top. However, he wasn't seen on this week's Raw, as partner Drew McIntyre aligned with Acting General Manager Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley to take on Braun Strowman, Finn Balor and Elias in a six-man tag.
Given his appearance at Survivor Series and a prominent role on Raw for much of 2018, Ziggler's absence felt more than a little bit strange. However, on
Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has been able to provide us with an update on the former Raw Tag Team Champion's current condition.
Ziggler is dealing with a foot injury that isn't all that serious. The Showoff could well appear at Saturday's Starrcade Live Event/one-hour WWE Network special (airing this Sunday) if WWE's medical teams think he's up to it. At the time of writing, Dolph is listed in the "also appearing" section alongside Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.
Here's the full quote from Uncle Dave: “Ziggler’s got a foot injury and he may be back within a week. He’s going to be evaluated again on Saturday. I believe he’s going to Cincinnati for Starrcade, he’ll be evaluated there. There’s a chance he may even be on that show if he’s OK.”
“They thought it was a break, which would have been a somewhat serious injury,” Meltzer continued. “He did not have a broken foot so whatever it is, it’s not that bad and they expect him back pretty soon.”
So in the midst of rather serious injuries to the likes of Bliss and Becky Lynch in recent times, it looks like Dolph Ziggler won't be missing for too long.
