Dragon Lee Signs New WWE Deal

Dragon Lee has put pen to paper on a new WWE deal

Dragon Lee has signed a new WWE deal, according to reports.

Lee signed with WWE in late 2022 in controversial fashion, before reporting to NXT. After making his main roster debut on the October 6 edition of SmackDown, Lee was officially moved to the blue brand, and has signed a main roster deal as a result.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Lee signed his new deal in the last week, with Meltzer opining that this new deal made the NXT run worthwhile to Lee, with that initial contract a gateway to a main roster deal in less than 12 months.

Before signing with WWE NXT, Dragon Lee was expected by many to follow brother RUSH into All Elite Wrestling, with Lee even wrestling on AEW/ROH TV in 2022. Lee was advised to choose WWE instead in order to avoid getting lost in the shuffle in AEW, with Meltzer noting how it was a far cry than in years past, where WWE was not seen as a great destination for luchadors, save for the notable examples of Rey Mysterio and Alberto del Rio.
