Emi Sakura Returning To United States For AEW

Says she has a "one way ticket"

Emi Sakura has tweeted about returning to the United States, specifically in regards to AEW's women's division and its champion, Britt Baker.

Sakura wrote, “I decided to go to America with a one-way ticket. Please look forward to what happens to #ChocoPro from now on. We are, ChocoPro & we like a challenge. Now #AEW Women Division, you better be ready, Emi Sakura’s looking at the top & @RealBrittBaker looks very interesting.”

Sakura was a part of AEW in its formation. She competed at the inaugural event, Double or Nothing 2019 in Las Vegas, teaming with Aja Kong and Yuka Sakazaki in a loss to Hikaru Shida, Riho, and Ryo Mizunami.

Later that year, Sakura appeared on several AEW broadcasts, and unsuccessfully challenged Riho in a Women's title match at the 2019 Full Gear in Baltimore.

Sakura was also part of the Women's World title eliminator tournament earlier in 2021, losing to Sakazaki in the Japan semi-final.

In recent months, Sakura has wrestled for ChocoPro and Michinoku Pro. Her most recent match occurred on July 13.
