After acquiring the rights to broadcast WWE’s PLE output from 2026, it seems as though ESPN would also be interested in carrying WWE’s library as part of their services.

Premium live events are set to move to ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service, and although the WWE library was not part of the deal, ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro told The Ringer’s Pressbox podcast that the broadcaster would be interested in acquiring the library:

“Yeah, we’re always interested in content of that quality. I will tell you that we will have the archival rights for the events that we are airing, but yes, in terms of their library, we certainly would be interested if and when those rights are available,” said Pitaro.

Peacock currently have the rights to the WWE library in the United States, but their current deal with WWE is set to expire in March 2026. With WWE having broadcast agreements in place with Netflix and now ESPN, logic says the library will likely end up with either of the two media powerhouses.

Since the closure of the WWE Network and the migrating of many WWE historical events and shows to Netflix, WWE has launched the WWE and WCW vault channels on YouTube to rousing fan acclaim.
