Filthy Tom Lawlor Done With MLW

Filthy has been with MLW since 2017

Former MLW World Champion Tom Lawlor is finishing up with the promotion.

Per a report from Fightful Select, Filthy’s two-year contract is expiring, with MLW confirming the news of Lawlor’s exit.

Lawlor was recently written off of MLW TV after losing a casket match to King Muertes, and although he still has time on his contract, it is set to expire before MLW’s next round of tapings in November.

Earlier this Summer, Lawlor seemingly retired from MMA following a victory against Jordan Young at PFL 5 in June, but even though he left his fight gloves in the ring following his win, Lawlor told Fightful that he is not officially retired, and is still under contract to PFL and wouldn’t rule out fighting again.

As well as his work with MLW, Lawlor has been a featured performer for NJPW STRONG, where he is reigning as the first ever Strong Openweight Champion, having defeated Brody King at New Japan Cup USA 2021 in April.

There is no word yet on what Lawlor’s next career move will be.
