Former AAA, Lucha Underground Star Angelico Signs With AEW
Daredevil high-flyer is All Elite bound...
May 9, 2019
Angelico, a 12-year veteran of the ring best known for championship runs through both AAA and Lucha Underground, as well as his high-risk daredevil style, becomes the next individual to join All Elite Wrestling.
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet
reported earlier Wednesday that Angelico signed a deal with the promotion, which will be formally announced by the promotion soon.
On Tuesday, Angelico,
via his Twitter, teased an important decision coming Wednesday that would, "...change my life and career".
According to Satin's sources, WWE was interested in bringing Angelico to NXT, but didn't want to get into a bidding war with AEW over the wrestler.
The South Africa-born Angelico previously wrestled for Lucha Underground from October 2014 through November 2016, before he formally announced his departure in April 2018. In his time with the show, he twice held Lucha Underground's Trios belts with Ivelisse Velez and Son of Havoc (Matt Cross).
Angelico also wrestled for AAA for much of the 2010s, where he was a three-time World Tag Team champion alongside Jack Evans.
In 2019, Angelico has worked for promotions throughout the UK, such as PROGRESS, ICW, and the German Wrestling Federation, among others.
