Last night's special New Year's Evil episode of NXT saw multiple returns take place.

The most surprising was former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. The Modern Day Maharaja attacked the Creed Brothers and aligned with Indus Sher. He noted that Sanga and Veer Mahaan fight with respect, but that he does not.

Later in the show, Mahal defeated Julius Creed in a singles match. Jinder last competed in NXT in 2012, but left when he failed to dethrone inaugural NXT Champion Seth Rollins.

Also returning on last night's show was Tiffany Stratton, following weeks of vignettes hyping a countdown to the New Year. Stratton cut a promo saying she was glad to be back and ready to take over on what was her first NXT appearance since losing a Light's Out Match to Wendy Choo on August 23.

And finally, Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) returned from a storyline suspension that was issued in September. Gallus attacked Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen backstage and then defeated Pretty Deadly in a tag team gauntlet match.

It was further announced that Tyler Bate would be coming back next week.
