Fox Sports 1 Airing WWE Royal Rumble 2020 On Tuesday Night

More encores while sports are on hold...

In the final run-up to WrestleMania 36, Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the 2020 Royal Rumble event on Tuesday night, March 31. The event will air in a four-hour block, beginning at 7 pm EST. The broadcast will then be followed by the latest edition of WWE Backstage, to be then followed by another airing of the Rumble.

WWE presently has a similar arrangement with ESPN, in which the cable sports channel is showing recent WrestleManias on Sunday evenings in the final weeks before this year's event. WrestleMania 32 airs this Sunday night on the channel at 7 pm EST.

Along with pretty much every other sports-oriented TV channel, ESPN and Fox Sports 1 have had to hastily fill their TV schedules with virtually all leagues on hiatus, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2020 Royal Rumble was most notable for the return to the ring of Edge, after nine years in forced retirement, due to spinal stenosis.

The winners of the two Rumble matches were Drew McIntyre and Charlotte Flair. Respectively, they will challenge WWE champion Brock Lesnar and NXT Women's champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania.
