Nothing lasts forever, and in wrestling sometimes you have to end a good angle when the time is right. Sometimes, though, things are ended before they’re done, with Frankie Kazarian feeling that AEW pulled the plug on SCU way too soon.

The trio of Kazarian, Christopher Daniels, and Scorpio Sky were one of the first acts to sign with All Elite Wrestling upon the company’s creation in 2019, but were split up in 2021, with Sky going on to form Men of the Year with Ethan Page, whilst Kaz and Daniels split after losing a team-ending match against The Young Bucks.

A fan on X/Twitter lamented the ending of SCU, with Kaz agreeing, posting the following:

“Thank you. SCU was special,” Kazarian wrote. “Should have NEVER been broken up. But, we were and it was a very [stupid idea from bad creative],” with Kazarian punctuating the post with a gif of Jericho saying the final line.

Now part of TNA Wrestling once more, Kazarian busted out SCU’s catchphrase of “this is the WORST town I’ve ever been in” as a sign of respect to Montreal after TNA’s recent sell-out Slammiversary 2024 show on July 20. Kazarian has not shied away from criticising aspects of AEW since his departure from the company in late 2022.
