Further details about the passing of independent wrestler Vince Steele have been revealed. Steele passed away following a medical emergency at a Brii Combination Wrestling show in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey on Sunday, March 16.

Ridgefield Park Police Chief Joseph Rella informed POST Wrestling that patrol officers were dispatched to the Brii Combination Wrestling event after a call was placed to authorities about Steele's condition, with it being noted that Steele was believed to be suffering from a heart attack. Steele was unconscious when police officers arrived, at which point they began to administer CPR and used a defibrillator. An ambulance and advanced life support were then dispatched from a local hospital. Steele's exact time of death is unknown.

Several fans in attendance at the show told Mike Johnson of PWInsider that Steele was taking part in a four-way at the show when he went down in the corner. The referee immediately called for the bell and a CPR-certified referee began administering aid, with police taking over administering CPR when they arrived. Fans noted that the ambulance arrived 23 minutes after the promotion called 911.

The pro wrestling show was halted after Steele was transported to a hospital and the fans in attendance left. Wrestlers at the show remained at the venue until they received word that Steele had passed away, at which point they headed to the hospital to pay their respects.

Brii Combination Wrestling have issued the following statement on Steele's passing:
