Goldberg Returns, Confronts Gunther On WWE Raw

Cometh the hour, cometh Da Man.

On last night's (June 16) episode of WWE Raw, WWE Hall of Famer returned and confronted current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. It was previously reported that Goldberg was planned to be at the show in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

As Gunther was discussing potential next opponents, the crowd started chanting for Goldberg. Sure enough, the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion emerged and reminded Der Ring General of the business they had started at Bad Blood back in October.

Goldberg said what started in Atlanta will end in Atlanta and challenged Gunther to a match at the July 12 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, with WWE confirming the match as official moments later.

Goldberg has been openly talking about having his retirement match and it was widely expected that it would be against Gunther. The 58-year-old has not wrestled since 2022 and has been candid about the injuries he has suffered while training for his in-ring swansong.

WWE have released a new line of 'Goldberg's Last Ride' merchandise to coincide with the match announcement.
