Goldberg To Be Part Of WWE SmackDown, Says He's Watching Universal Title Match

"Da Man" makes his first appearance since WrestleMania...

WWE is loading up tonight's SmackDown "season premiere" with a number of classic names, one of whom has a vested interest in the evening's Universal title match.

Bill Goldberg wrote on Instagram that he will be part of tonight's WWE SmackDown, and tagged both Universal champion Roman Reigns and challenger Braun Strowman in his post.

Wrote Goldberg, "To say I have "INTEREST" in tonight's #UniversalChampionship match on @wweonfox #SmackDown is an understatement! @adamscherr99 @romanreigns I'll be joining the #WWEThunderDome TONIGHT for the season premiere."

Goldberg was last seen at WrestleMania 36, where he dropped the Universal title to Strowman in a two minute match.

Goldberg was originally supposed to defend the title against Reigns, before Reigns pulled out of the event on his own accord, due to concerns about COVID-19. Strowman was slotted in as a substitute opponent shortly before the match was filmed.

Reigns won the Universal title on August 30 at Payback, capturing the belt in a triple threat involving Strowman and defending champion The Fiend (who had defeated Strowman for the belt a week earlier at SummerSlam).
