Gunther Vs. Damian Priest To Make History At WWE Survivor Series
The pair are set to face off again for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Nov 12, 2024
On last night's episode of WWE Raw, it was confirmed that Gunther and Damian Priest's rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship will take place at Survivor Series: WarGames on November 30.
As noted by SEScoops, this marks the first time the same World Heavyweight Championship match has taken place at SummerSlam and Survivor Series in almost 20 years. The pair's first title clash saw Gunther win the belt from Priest after the former Judgement Day member was betrayed by Finn Balor.
The most recent example was in 2006 when Booker T defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Batista at both SummerSlam and Survivor Series.
Gunther has defended the World Heavyweight Title on two occasions: first defeating Randy Orton at Bash in Berlin, then beating Sami Zayn on the October 7 episode of Raw.
Also confirmed for Survivor Series: WarGames is the eponymous multi-man cage match - this year featuring Roman Reigns, The Usos and Sami Zayn vs. The Bloodline. Both teams' lineups are incomplete at the time of writing, each still looking for a fifth member.
It remains to be seen whether another WarGames match will be booked for the card. The previous two iterations have featured both a men's and women's version of the stipulation.
The show is set to take place at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
