GUNTHER Wants To Headline WWE WrestleMania 40

Since seizing the Intercontinental Championship in June 2022, GUNTHER has become one of the most consistent and feared performers in all of WWE.

‘Der Ring General’ successfully defended the title in a Triple Threat match against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 39, in a match widely considered one of the best of the entire event. For WrestleMania XL in 2024, GUNTHER wants to go one better, telling Ariel Helwani that he wants the main event slot:

"The main event. That's the prediction," Gunther said when asked about Mania XL, relaying the following when asked what title he wants to headline with "That's something we shall see. I don't plan on losing [the WWE Intercontinental Title], and I want to make it the most important thing there is. I leave [the selection of a dream opponent] up to everybody else to make their wish.

"Obviously, in this company, there are so many great guys that I would really like to get in the ring with, but whatever the challenge is, I'm going to take it head-on and make the most out of it. So, everything will come around in the end. You get in the ring with everybody if you're here long enough, so I take it as it comes."

Remarkably, WrestleMania 39 was GUNTHER’s first ever Mania appearance, with the former NXT UK Champion having made his main roster debut in April 2022, days after WrestleMania 38.
