'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan is on the mend and out of hospital following emergency surgery

Some positive news on 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan has been revealed. 

Following emergency surgery, Duggan announced on his Twitter account that he was well enough to leave hospital and he was discharged on Monday evening.

"Out of the HOSPITAL!!! Big Thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the @GlensFallsHosp. You made a rough few days much easier!! Also, thanks to all of you who had a thought and a prayer for me as we went through this difficult time. Love you!" Duggan tweeted.

The WWE Hall of Famer was even well enough to take a trip to Five Guys for a burger on the way home. 

Duggan was rushed to hospital at the weekend, where he underwent emergency surgery on Saturday. The nature of Duggan's health issues have not been disclosed. The former WCW United States Champion is a cancer survivor, having battled prostate cancer in the late 1990s and prostate cancer in 2022.

Duggan's health issues come after he was honoured in his hometown of Glen Falls, New York on September 8. Along with being named an honorary member of the Glen Falls Firefighters Association, September 8 was commissioned James 'Hacksaw' Duggan Day.
