Halloween Havoc Main Event Set On WWE NXT

Halloween Havoc has its main event

The main event of WWE NXT Halloween Havoc was made official during Tuesday night's show.

The latest episode of NXT opened with Ilja Dragunov and JD McDonagh as they staked their claim to being the next challenger for the NXT Championship. This prompted an interruption from Bron Breakker and the NXT Champion instead suggested they face off in a Triple Threat at the October 22 premium live event. The match was then made official.

Dragunov returned to WWE NXT last week following the closure of NXT UK. He had been off TV in recent months due to a serious ankle injury and he was forced to vacate the NXT UK Championship during the summer. JD McDonagh won a number one contender's match against Tyler Bate last week to stake his own claim to a title match.

Bron Breakker is currently in his second reign as NXT Champion, having regained the gold on the Raw after WrestleMania. He has successfully defended the title against the likes of Cameron Grimes, Joe Gacy, Duke Hudson, and Gunther.
