Hangman Page Breaks Silence Following AEW World Title Loss

Hangman Page lost the gold at Double Or Nothing

Hangman Page's reign as AEW World Champion came to an end on Sunday as CM Punk defeated The Anxious Millenial Cowboy in the main event of the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view.

Page had the opportunity to retain by hitting Punk with the AEW World Title belt while the referee was down but the champion chose to win the honourable way and it cost him as Punk countered a Buckshot Lariat attempt into the Go To Sleep for the victory. 

Hangman had remained silent since Sunday but he took to Twitter to comment on his loss, writing: "I've had a while to reflect on my time as aew champion now that it's come to an end. thank you all, not for supporting me, but for supporting the vision. it's not about the gold or the glory, it's about the common love and dignity with which we treat each other. change the world."

With his loss on Sunday, Page's reign ended at 197 days. He defeated Kenny Omega for the gold at Full Gear 2021 and defended the title against Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Lance Archer, and Dante Martin.
