Hangman Page Vs. Swerve Strickland Official For AEW WrestleDream

AEW WrestleDream will see Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland clash in singles action

Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland are officially set to wrestle at the inaugural All Elite Wrestling WrestleDream on October 1, after Page formally challenged Swerve on Dynamite.

Page defeated Swerve’s Mogul Embassy partner Brian Cage in singles action when he called out Strickland for sending Cage to do his dirty work. Strickland brushed off Page’s comments saying he’ll fight the former AEW World Champion on Strickland’s home turf of Seattle, Washington at WrestleDream. Until then The Mogul Embassy will ‘tune up’ Page, with Cage attacking Hangman after their match, leading to The Young Bucks making the save.

Swerve and Page have been at odds for a couple of weeks, with Strickland telling Page how he has had every opportunity available afforded to him in AEW during a promo on the September 6 Dynamite, with Swerve saying he wants Hangman’s spot in the company.

WrestleDream will be a first-time meeting between the two in singles action. Strickland and Page were both participants in the 2022 Royal Rampage, whilst their only other clash came in an eight-man tag on the indies in 2015.

Announced so far for AEW WrestleDream, October 1, 2023:

  • Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
  • Hangman Page vs. Swerve Strickland
