After it was announced back in April, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Wonder World STARDOM have finally completed their merger, with STARDOM becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of NJPW.

NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi spoke at a STARDOM event last night to celebrate this news, and spoke on what the future will hold for both promotions.

"Today, I was officially able to make an address in front of the fans of STARDOM. Essentially, STARDOM and New Japan shows will continue to run as they have previously. But there are places where we can work with each other, such as with promotional work and interviews. I'm going over the to the USA, where men's and women's wrestling are traditionally both represented equally in companies. I'll be working with President Okada to make sure that the event can be enjoyed by everyone."

Both wrestlers from NJPW and STARDOM, including Tanahashi, NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer, Mina Shirakawa, Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, and others, will be competing at the AEW Forbidden Door 2024 later tonight on a show which will also be seeing the biggest stars of AEW and cameos from CMLL.
