Following reports that Ricky Starks' contract with All Elite Wrestling wasn't expiring anytime soon, it has been revealed exactly when the former AEW World Tag Team Champion's deal comes to an end.

According to Fightful Select, Starks is signed with AEW until the Spring or Summer of 2025. Starks' deal was originally set to expire earlier this year but AEW activated an option year in the 34-year-old's contract to keep him signed to the promotion. Prior to the option year being picked up, Starks had been hoping to test the open market.

Starks has not appeared on AEW TV since March 2024. He suffered from a brief stinger but has been cleared to compete for the past several months, with AEW simply not using Starks. Rumours have swirled about Starks' future throughout 2024, with reports suggesting that Starks wants to go to WWE and there is believed to be interest from the company.

Starks has made independent wrestling appearances during his AEW absence, including for Game Changer Wrestling on Saturday, November 23 where he discussed being "frozen out." Starks was booked for multiple GCW dates but he has since been pulled from those shows due to comments made by Effy about Tony Khan and Shad Khan.

Starks was backstage at AEW Full Gear but there is no word on if AEW plan to bring him back to TV.
