The event was destined to be overshadowed by AEW All In but IMPACT Wrestling held their Emergence special on Sunday, August 27 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The show featured one title change as The Rascalz of Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz defeated Subculture's Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews to capture the IMPACT World Tag Team Championships for the first time. The challengers isolated Flash Morgan Webster down the stretch and they ended his night following a Double Stomp into a Burning Hammer.
Steve Maclin also made his return from injury during Emergence, first attacking PCO before he brawled with Josh Alexander on the stage during the eight-man tag team match of Josh Alexander, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, and KUSHIDA vs. Bully Ray, Lio Rush, Moose, & Brian Myers.
The brawl ultimately weakened Alexander and the two-time IMPACT World Champion ended up being pinned by Moose following a Spear. This came after Alexander and Shelley started arguing after bumping into each other.
In the main event, Trinity defeated Deonna Purrazzo to retain the Knockouts World Championship in a rematch from Slammiversary, scoring the victory with her Starstruck submission. Trinity looks set to face another former Knockouts World Champion as it was revealed that Jordynne Grace would be returning to IMPACT at Victory Road on September 8.
An NJPW star will also be returning to IMPACT as it was revealed Will Ospreay would be involved at Bound for Glory on October 21 as Emergence went off the air.
