Last stop before Hard To Kill

With Hard To Kill coming up on Saturday night, IMPACT Wrestling made sure everything was in place heading into their first major show of 2022.

After the chaos of their recent contract signing, anticipation is high for the IMPACT World Title three-way between Matt Cardona, W. Morrissey, and Champion Moose. Moose gave his thoughts on the bout, saying his opponents are extra dangerous due to who much he’s p***** them off, but knowing all the despicable acts he has done in the past, we can only imagine what he is willing to do to keep his title.

Gia Miller asked W. Morrissey his thoughts about the triple threat, with Morrissey saying he came to IMPACT without any friends, fans or supporters, and now he’s back on top some are trying to curry favour with him. However, Morrissey said he will be standing alone as the new IMPACT World Champion at the end of Hard To Kill, just how he likes it.

Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green gave their thought ahead of their respective matches at the PPV, with Green saying she’s fine after taking an errant chair shot from Cardona but she’s worried about Cardona’s focus heading into his IMPACT World Title match. Both Cardona and Green blame Moose for attempting petty mindgames, and Cardona is ready for the biggest match of his career.

With Green taking part in the first ever Knockouts Ultimate X match occurring at Hard To Kill, all six competitors met in six-person tag action, as Green, Tasha Steelz, and Lady Frost faced off against Jordynne Grace, Rachel Ellering, and Rosemary. With established team Grace and Ellering on one side of the bout, they dominated the early periods of the match, until newcomer Lady Frost tagged in and showed the IMPACT audience what she is capable of. Eventually, everything broke down into a mass brawl, allowing Chelsea Green to hit an Unprettier on Ellering for the win.

The IMPACT Knockouts Championship will be on the line at Hard To Kill as Mickie James defends against former champion Deonna Purrazzo in a Texas Deathmatch. James joined the commentary team to watch her opponent in action, as ‘The Virtuosa’ defeated Mercedes Martinez in what was Martinez’s last IMPACT appearance for now. Purrazzo was relentless in victory, taking her frustrations out on Martinez as Purrazzo and James have a ‘no touch clause’ ahead of their bout. The two did have a good ol’ fashioned staredown though.

JONAH continued his path of destruction through IMPACT, with the former NXT North American Champion having a good ol’ fashioned hoss fight with Jake Something. Something gave his best, but it was JONAH’s night, who heads into his bout with Josh Alexander in sterling form. Post-match Alexander made his presence felt, as the two brawled until security intervened. JONAH shook off the security like they were nothing, and crushed Alexander through a table to end the segment.

Elsewhere:

Steve Maclin was told by Gail Kim that if he doesn’t defeat X Division Champion trey Miguel at Hard To Kill then he won’t get another shot at the title as long as Trey is champion.

The Iinspiration trash talked Madison Rayne and Tenille Dashwood on ‘All About II’ before the two teams had a screaming match.

Masha Slamovich made her debut as a full-time member of the IMPACT roster with an impressive squash match win.

Ace Austin and Madman Fulton beat Swinger and Hernandez, before Pillmanizing Hernandez’ arm as Swinger ran away

Karl Anderson defeated Heath ahead of their ten-man Hardcore War at HTK, with The Good Brothers, VBD, Heath, Rhino, Willie Mack, Rich Swann, and Eddie Edwards brawling to take IMPACT off the air.
