Alexander vs. Suzuki, and the build-up to Turning Point

With Turning Point round the corner, IMPACT goes full steam ahead into their next IMPACT Plus special.

The IMPACT World Title match at Turning Point will now be a Full Metal Mayhem match, after Eddie Edwards and Moose had a hellacious brawl, one that’s been building for quite some time now. Eddie wailed on Moose with a chair, KO-ing the champ, but the leader of the Moose Nation escaped by the skin of his teeth, before Edwards could crush him through a table from a ladder.

All eyes were on the main event, as ‘Walking Weapon’ Josh Alexander took on ‘The King’ Minoru Suzuki. As expected, this was a very technical, and hard hitting affair, with the action spilling from ring to ramp and back again. Suzuki had the better of the former IMPACT World Champion for large spells of the bout, and looked to fade in the sleeper hold, but avoided the Gotch piledriver to fight on. The two went back-and-forth, but it was Alexander’s night, as he got the win with the C4 Spike.

IMPACT kicked off with a contenders match for the X Division Title, as Steve Maclin took on Laredo Kid. Kid is scheduled to take on X Division Champion trey Miguel on Saturday, but Maclin wanted in, and would be added to the match if he were to defeat Kid on IMPACT. Maclin gave Kid everything he got, crushing him with two huge spears, before hitting the Mayhem for All for the win. So it’ll now be a triple threat for the X Division Title on Saturday.

The Iinspiration took on The Undead Bridesmaids in non-title action, and the crowd were fully behind McKay and Lee, with the Champs picking up the win with a double team powerbomb. Their celebrations were cut short however, when Decay arrived to warn The Iinspiration, that their time with the belts was nearing the end.

Deonna Purrazzo made her return to IMPACT after dropping the Knockouts Title to Mickie James at Bound For Glory. The Virtuosa said she’s been at home, and the fans will have to wait and see what she does next.

And The Demon and Johnny Swinger finally ended their long running feud, when the KISS inspired monster choked out the casino hustler in six-man action. This can only mean one thing; the return of Wrestle House.

Elsewhere: Rich Swann challenged Brian Myers to a fight at Turning Point. Chelsea Green spoke up her chances of winning the Digital Media Championship, as W. Morrissey and Matt Cardona set off on a collision course over the IMPACT World Championship. Doc Gallows got a cheap victory over Hikuleo. And Mercedes Martinez and Mickie James exchanged promos ahead of their Knockouts Title showdown at Turning Point.

Results;

  • Steve Maclin vs. Laredo Kid
  • The Iinspiration def. The Undead Bridesmaids
  • Doc Gallows def. Hikuleo
  • The Demon & Decay def. Johnny Swinger, Hernandez, & Fallah Bahh
  • Josh Alexander def. Minoru Suzuki
