IMPACT Wrestling Results - October 14 2021

IMPACT Wrestling is just over a week away from presenting their biggest pay-per-view of the year and the October 14 episode went some way to confirming further details about the card.

The Triple Threat Match to determine the brand new X-Division Champion was confirmed after El Phantasmo defeated Rohit Raju and Willie Mack in the opening match of the night. El Phantasmo will now take on Trey Miguel and Steve Maclin to crown a new champion at Bound For Glory 2021.

Also determined was the first and final entrant in the Shoot Your Shot Gauntlet Match, as W. Morrissey won a 20-man Battle Royale for the honour. Morrissey last eliminated Chris Sabin from the bout, who had competed earlier in the night, meaning Morrissey gets the final entrant spot at Bound For Glory. Sabin, meanwhile, must enter first.

Elsewhere on the show, Deonna Purrazzo named Savannah Evans as her 'poison' to face Mickie James on IMPACT Wrestling next week, while the debut of the IInspiration was also further hyped; the team will compete for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles at Bound For Glory.

The show was 'main-evented' by an intense sit-down interview between IMPACT World Champion Christian Cage and his Bound For Glory 2021 challenger Josh Alexander. A back-and-forth that was built on respect, Cage pointed out that Alexander has a hard time channelling his emotions.

The segment ended with Alexander storming out after a clip is shown of Cage asking who Alexander is at AEW Fan Fest, with the reigning IMPACT Champion saying his point has been proven.
