IMPACT Wrestling Teases Arrival Of Several Released WWE Superstars In Slammiversary 2021 Video

Also teases for Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito and The Great Muta

IMPACT Wrestling teased that several released WWE Superstars would be joining the promotion at Slammiversary 2021 during last night's Rebellion pay-per-view.

In the video announcing that Slammiversary would take place in July, footage of Mickie James, Samoa Joe and Chelsea Green was shown alongside clips of NJPW stars Tetsuya Naito and Kazuchika Okada. The Great Muta was also shown, as was an Australian flag and Mexican flag, which alludes to The IIconics and Andrade.

Mickie James, Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were all released by WWE on April 15. They are currently under a 90-day non-compete clause which expires on July 14. Andrade was let go by WWE following the Fastlane pay-per-view and is free to sign with another promotion.

IMPACT used a similar tactic ahead of Slammiversary 2020 and the company teased the likes of Eric Young, Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, EC3, Brian Myers, Drake Maverick, Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis, Bully Ray, Austin Aries, Heath and Miro would be joining or returning to the company at last year's pay-per-view. Young, The Good Brothers, Heath and EC3 ultimately did appear on July 18, 2020, while Brian Myers debuted a few days later.

Outside of the Slammiversary 2021 announcement, IMPACT also revealed the next IMPACT Plus special will be Under Siege on May 15. The company will then return to pay-per-view on June 12 for Against All Odds.
