Indy Wrestler Cast In BBC's EastEnders

Charles Crowley heading to Walford

One of the United Kingdom's top independent wrestlers has a new role.

It was announced by Bodhi Talent Agency that Charles Crowley (real name Richard Summers-Calvert) had been cast in BBC's EastEnders. The indy talent will be a mechanic on the show.

Crowley, the self-proclaimed 'Professional Wrestler, Trickster, Vagabond and King of the Carnival', has been performing on the British independent wrestling scene since 2018 and has established himself as a featured star in recent years. In 2022, he became Wrestle Carnival's inaugural King Of The Carnival Champion and he has performed for the likes of Sacrifice Pro and Kamikaze Pro.

The Big Dangerous Scary Mammal has also wrestled regularly for PROGRESS and he is scheduled to compete in the promotion's upcoming Super Strong Style 16 tournament that will crown a new PROGRESS Wrestling World Champion.

EastEnders is one of the United Kingdom's most popular soap operas along with Coronation Street and Emmerdale. The show has been on the air since 1985.

Along with his new EastEnders role, Crowley has also been cast in Netflix's The Witcher: Blood Origin.
