Intercontinental Championship Match Set For WWE Smackdown

Another title match is set for this week's Smackdown

WWE have confirmed that Apollo Crews will defend his Intercontinental Championship against former champion Big E this week on Smackdown.

Crews won the Title from Big E at WrestleMania 37 in an Nigerian Drum Fight, thanks to help from new comrade Commander Azeez, and also successfully defended the Championship this past week against Kevin Owens.

Big E believed, as the former champion, he should be the first in line to challenge Crews and made that sentiment known to the champion last week, attacking him in a backstage segment following his win over Owens.

A former two-time Intercontinental Champion, Big E will now get his opportunity to win back the belt on this Friday's Smackdown.

This week's episode of the blue brand is shaping up to be an exciting show, with Roman Reigns also putting the Universal Championship on the line against Daniel Bryan. Should Bryan lose that match, he will be forced to leave Smackdown. The match was made after Reigns issued the challenge to Bryan in the closing segment of last week's show.
