Intercontinental Title Match Set For Christmas Day Episode Of WWE SmackDown

WWE announced during last night's TLC pay-per-view that Sami Zayn will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Big E on the Christmas Day edition of SmackDown. 

The Powerhouse Of Positivity earned the title shot after he pinned Zayn during the eight-man tag team match on the TLC Kickoff Show. 

The two men started feuding a couple of weeks ago when Sami Zayn defeated Big E by count-out in a non-title match. The Intercontinental Champion adopted similar tactics to his match with Daniel Bryan and ran around at ringside. Big E ultimately caught him after they both crawled under the ring, but Sami managed to stomp himself free and climb back into the squared circle just before the count of 10.

Their rivalry then continued on last week's SmackDown as Big E was named Superstar Of The Year during the Sami Awards. Zayn claimed a production mishap resulted in Big E's win and footage later leaked of him shouting at the production crew, parodying Tom Cruise's recent outburst on the set of Mission Impossible 7.
