Jade Cargill Becomes First AEW TBS Champion On Dynamite

Still undefeated, to boot

Jade Cargill has become the first ever AEW TBS Women's champion, after defeating Ruby Soho in a tournament final on Wednesday's Dynamite in Newark.

Late in the match, after Mark Sterling had been ejected by referee Aubrey Edwards, Soho managed to set Cargill on the top turnbuckle. However, whatever move she was attempting was countered by Cargill into Jaded off the middle ropes for the finish.

After receiving a first round bye in the tournament, Cargill defeated Red Velvet on November 17, then Thunder Rosa last week, before defeating Soho to win the title.

With the win, Cargill holds a record of 23-0 in AEW, after debuting last March.

Soho's path to the finals saw her defeat Penelope Ford on October 23, Kris Statlander on December 1, and Nyla Rose two weeks ago.

The AEW TBS title was introduced on October 6 of last year, with the tournament formally beginning on October 23. In all, 12 women competed across four rounds.

Coinciding with the match to determine the first AEW TBS Women's champion, tonight's Dynamite was the first to air on namesake TBS, after moving from TNT.
