Former WWE employee Janel Grant has submitted a fresh request seeking documents in her lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon.

Grant's legal team are requesting a broad range of internal WWE and McMahon communications, including board materials, NDA drafts and documents already reviewed by federal investigators.

This is because they wish to challenge the enforceability of the arbitration clause that was included in the NDA Grant and McMahon signed in January 2022. Grant's side contends that the clause is unenforceable. They believe the evidence they are requesting could support Grant's argument that she was under duress at the time she signed the NDA.

Lawyers for McMahon and WWE have long been looking to have the case moved to arbitration, meaning that it would be settled out of the public eye.

In the plaintiff's filing, it was noted that the parties had a meeting this past Friday, but that the defendants declined to offer any documents in response to her request for discovery.

In a statement given to POST Wrestling, a representative for Grant said:

"WWE and McMahon had the opportunity to voluntarily provide discovery and they refused. They claim the NDA and its arbitration clause are enforceable, but resist any attempts to investigate whether Ms. Grant was coerced into signing it - facts that go to the heart of its enforceability. They can't have it both ways. Today we asked the Court to allow that discovery to proceed, Ms. Grant deserves to have the facts about her case".

Former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis was recently dropped as a defendant in the lawsuit after he agreed to provide evidence to Grant against McMahon and WWE.
