New AEW deal signed by Jeff Jarrett
Jan 2, 2025
It’s his world, and is set to be for a little longer after Jeff Jarrett signed a new contract with All Elite Wrestling.
Heading into the January 1 Fight for the Fallen special of AEW Dynamite, Jarrett teased a big announcement for the show, with many assuming ‘The Last Outlaw’ was calling time on his legendary in-ring career. However, Jarrett announced on Dynamite that he has signed a new contract, but it will be his last as a performer.
Jarrett then declared himself for the Casino Gauntlet match on the January 8 edition of Dynamite, with ‘Double J’ wanting to win the match and receive a shot at the AEW World Championship.
Since arriving in AEW in 2022, Jarrett has been aligned on screen with Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Karen Jarrett, and Sonjay Dutt. Jarrett also works backstage in the company, with the TNA Wrestling co-founder working as AEW’s Director of Business Development.
If Jarrett is successful in the Casino Gauntlet and does manage to lift the AEW World Championship, then he’ll become the only man in history to have reigned as AEW, WCW, and NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.
